SP Velumani who inaugurated an imitation Gold jewellery shop at Big bazaar later told the media that “Tamilisai Soundararajan, has every quality to adorn the post of the Governor. The entire Tamil Nadu is happy and proud of her and greet her on her elevation to the gubernatorial post.
While addressing the press, Samathuva Makkal Katchi President Sarath Kumar who also took part in the function said, "I am proud as a Tamil that Tamilisai has gone to achieve this after several political ups and downs in her life”
However, he refused to comment on why she wasn't given a high post within the BJP party and said “I cannot speak about BJP values and beliefs".
